Bavaria Filmstadt is located in Geiselgasteig, a suburb of Munich. It occupies an area of approximately 36 hectares (about 356,000 square meters). It consists of more than 25 shooting halls. It has full technical and technological facilities of modern film and television industry. It's known for its technical workshops, producing decorations for theaters and entertainment halls throughout Europe.
In the town movies with the participation of Alfred Hitchcock, Billy Wilder, Orson Welles, Stanley Kubrick, Ingmar Bergman, Sophia Loren, and Elizabeth Taylor were created.
The Bavaria Film Studios produced such films as "The Neverending Story", "Asterix and Obelix vs. Caesar", "Enemy Mine", and many TV series, performed for the German television as "Marienhof", "Tatort", "Polizeiruf 110" . As in other film towns here you can also find streets of cities like Hamburg or Munich. There are screen decoration for factories, submarine, towns of the Wild West.
The park offers guided tours, so you can learn all about the biggest film productions, as well as get to the bottom of scenography and decoration film.
For visitors fantastic stunt shows, are waiting, the audience can realize what this job is all about.
The park is also a 4D cinema with a special audio system.
