The historic coal mine in Zabrze offers visitors two trails. You can choose one of them or both. The choice is yours.
The Guido Mine is unique on a global scale, as preserved excavation has no equivalent in other museums in the world.
Level 170 tells the story of the Silesian mining and coal mining methods from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, as well as an interesting exhibition of tools, which have been used by the miners: lights, rescue equipment, stables for the horses which worked here, as well as a geological exhibition. The whole is complemented with light and sound effects such as creaking floors, squeaking rats or miners' talks.
Noteworthy is also the Chamber of politically repressed soldiers-miners, which presents a very interesting exhibition of documents, photographs, uniforms, and a multimedia presentation.
Duration of the tour is about 1 hour.
Level 320 is designed for adults and children over 6 years of age. It reflects the nature of modern mining. It is here, where visitors walking in the helmet, lamp and breathing mask, will feel the atmosphere of the miners' work. We'll see how the paving combine Alpina, KWB combine drum, belt conveyors and at the same time the oldest and simplest transport devices work.
The duration of the trail is about 2 hours.
