This unusual glass structure called a "step in the void" (French: "Le Pas dans le vide") was installed on a mountain top of the Aiguille du Midi, 3842 m above sea level, located about 8 km from the famous Mont Blanc.
This is definitely an attraction for people with strong nerves who like elevated adrenaline levels, because even though the platform is completely safe, however standing in a glass block over nearly a thousand-meter chasm requires a lot of courage and not everyone is brave enough. To get to the platform you have to use the cable car, whose lower station is located in the ski resort of Chamonix, known not only for fabulous skiing and snowboarding conditions, but for the very first Winter Olympics in 1924.
