L'Aquarium de Barcelona is probably one of the largest aquariums in Barcelona. There are 40 water tanks, in which up to 11 thousand marine animals of 450 different species live (from the tiny inhabitants of coral reefs to giant sharks).
The biggest attraction of this place is an underwater tunnel of 80 meters in length. It is up to 6 million liters of water. In the aquarium there are several different pools: the Mediterranean, Tropical, Planet Aqua, Mini Aquarium, Oceanarium, and the interactive and educational space called Explora!
An interesting place is a mini-aquarium, which was created to draw attention to the details of Mediterranean flora and fauna, which in large tanks would remain unnoticed.
Interesting fact: there's an aquarium here, where you can dive with sharks, but it's meant only for experienced divers. Minimum age: 18 years.
The Aquarium also has a terrace with a magnificent view over the harbor. In the aquarium area there's also a restaurant and a gift shop.
