Loro Parque is a zoo and an aquarium built into the impressive exotic garden with thousands of palm trees.
Residents of the park are parrots, flamingos, alligators, sea lions, sharks and penguins. Chimpanzees, gorillas, sloths, jaguars, monkeys, meerkats, tigers, dolphins and giant turtles and many other species of aquatic and land animals are living here as well.
In 2006, in cooperation with SeaWorld in the U.S., the largest and most modern OrcaOcean aquarium in the world has been launched here, in which four orcs live. On the Penguins Planet you can see different species of penguins - a total of about 200 birds in a truly arctic scenery (including snow and penguins diving into ice-cold water). All animals in the park live in conditions close to natural.
New to the park is Katandra Treetops - a fantastic hanging trail, so you can walk among the treetops watching one thousand of colorful exotic birds.
The aquarium with a glass tunnel running through the pool with the sharks makes big impression as well.
An additional attraction for children is Kinderlandia with hanging bridges, trains, rail and water slides. There are restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, and ... a Thai village.
Because the area is large, it's advised to go to the Loro Parque as early as possible, so that everything can be explored in calmly manner and you'll be able to see the numerous demonstrations involving animals. It's worth to bring drinks and food with you.
