In two exhibition halls and in the operating manufacturing plant - you will find the Factory Museum devoted to production of matches.
You can see how the production cycle of matches looks like, ranging from aspen wood debarking through producing sticks up for packing matches into boxes. In addition, the visitors have the opportunity to see the historic machinery collection.
At the museum machinery and equipment has been gathered (such as the historic production line from the twenties and thirties of the twentieth century), as well as numerous documents and a collection of labels. It also features an exhibition of sculptures from a single match by Anatol Karoni and a show of the three-minute long documentary from 1913 "Fire of the match factory in Czestochowa".
Good to know:
- the production technology has not changed practically since 1913 to the present day;
- the museum is the number 1 on the Industrial Monuments Route of the Silesian Province;
- on the surface of a matchbox there were labels with information about the manufacturer, and later also with other content, which gave rise to phillumeny (matchbox labels collection).
