Edinburgh Museum of Childhood is the world's first museum dedicated to childhood.

Located on the Royal Mile, one of the main streets of the old town, it is a treasure trove of knowledge, presenting an extraordinary collection of toys dating back to the eighteenth century

At the museum you will see among others, modern toys and games, but also those from our grandparents, great-grandparents and even more ancient times, including rattles, dolls, wicker carts and wooden dollhouses, cars, soldiers, turntables and hobby items such as porcelain tea sets and school blackboards and clothing from baptism outfit to the costumes for masked balls, and more than 10 thousand books, magazines and comics.
