Czech rock cities (Teplice rock city and Adršpašské rock city) are located in the central Sudetes mountain range near the town of Teplice nad Metují and the village of Adrspach (czech: Adršpach), in the north-eastern Czech Republic.
The circular route in Teplice Rocks (5.9 km), leads on a well-marked blue trail. It's complemented by fifteen tables, located along the route, including information on the history of exploring the rocks, trivia from the world of animals and plants, and numerous photographs and illustrations. Some of the names come from the period of the very first tourist excursions. A common denominator to all the names is that they are trying to describe specific forms of rock shapes and images.
Most fancy mazes, towers and single scales are located on the loop trail, approx. 2 km behind the vantage point. To explore the full circular route in Teplice Rocks you should set aside about 3 hours.
Exploring Teplice Rocks starts right after the cash register (vstupní pokladna). After less than a kilometer to the right the Yellow Rock Trail leads to the Adrspach Rock City. If you go this route you do not have to buy another ticket.
At the ticket office, in addition to the entrace fees you can buy maps, guidebooks, postcards and some snacks. Next to the ticket office there's is a car park and a little further along the route, the "Teplice nad Metují - Trutnov" train stop.
