Sagrada Familia, or the Expiatory Church of the Holy Family (catal. Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família) is one of the most original churches in the world.

The Basilica was designed by the famous architect Antonio Gaudi (started in 1882 by F. de Paul Villar) and it's still not completed, the construction continues today.

The completion is expected in 2026, exactly 100 years after Gaudi's death. The will of the designer of the temple was to fund it only by private donations of sponsors, which is why construction is not funded by the government at all.

Up to day eight of the planned 18 needles have been erected, measuring up to 170 meters high. The towers symbolize the 12 apostles, four evangelists, Mary and Jesus (the central and highest). Upon completion of the tower dedicated to Jesus the Sagrada Familia church will be the highest in the world.

Although the building is not yet complete, Sagrada Familia looks amazingly like a building from another world. The interior of the church and entering the towers by elevators are available for a fee.
