While visiting the Tuscan city of Lucca you should definitely climb the 40-meter Guinigi tower (Italian: Torre Guinigi), which offers a magnificent view of the surroundings.

The tower itself is a quite unusual structure, since at the very top of it the two rock oak trees are growing ...

It was built by the wealthy merchant family Guinigi in the thirteenth century as a part of one of their residences.
