A Zoo is not only a place where endangered species live, it is also a haven of peace and tranquility for the visitors. The zoo in Lodz can be visited all year round. It is purely a wooded park, in the summer, you can easily find here a shadow, and the many benches allow rest. In winter, heated pavilions provide shelter to persistent walkers. Two modern playgrounds, rope park for children, mini-zoo with domesticated animals and snacks in popular catering points provide recreation for the whole day.
In Lodz zoo on 16.64 hectares now about 3,000 representatives of over 400 species are living. Some of them are now only to be seen in zoos. In recent years in the Lodz zoo a series of new pavilions and aviaries has been created, ensuring the modernity and a way of enticing display of animals, among others: World of Birds, Asian pavilion, aviary for small and medium-sized cats, or a run for Garn antelopes. You can not just look at the live animals, but also benefit from a rich multimedia education offering .
A new incredible attraction last year was the opening of the butterfly pavilion, where you can meet face to face with the great rainbow of butterflies and moths. "Touch the fish" tank placed in the Aquarium pavilion provides an incredible sensory experience, and another vivarium pavilion attracts your attention by its exotic, koikothermal residents. A great popular demonstration in animal feeding, i.e. monkeys, pelicans, eared seals, chameleons and bears.
School children can benefit here from a guided tour in the field of biology lessons, organized groups - unconventional occasional meetings, and individuals are invited to regular outdoor events involving animals.
Zoo staff are hoping that a walk through the zoo will bring pleasure and entertainment to the visitors, and will enable a better knowledge and understanding of animals.
