Filmpark Babelsberg is the oldest movie studio in the world. The first film was "born" here in 1912, it was a silent film "Dance of the Dead," directed by Urban Gad.

Operating to this day, the town covers an area of 240 thousand m2. One of the most interesting attractions that can be found in the park is the ability to have a look behind the scenes and see how to create a movie. Kids should be particularly pleased to be here.

Older visitors, in turn, will definitely like the stunt shows with special pyro effects, which are held in a special amphitheater "Volcano" that can accomodate a maximum of up to 2 500 spectators. Interesting is also a guided tour of "the Media Villages," where several   scenes from well-known movies were filmed, like "The Pianist", "Sun Alley," "Inglourious Basterds," "Metropolis," "Melodies of Love" - which was the first German cinema sound film, as well as all episodes of the movie "Winnetou". It was here, in the town of Babelsberg, where  Roman Polanski, Quentin Tarantino, Fritz Lang co-created history of cinema.

Other attractions are: a 4D Cinema showing on-screen sessions of 5 minute intervals, meetings at the "Traumwerker" Atelier, where we learn the secrets of makeup and costume work, stroll through the fabulous garden, which became the background for the movie "Treasures of the Sultan" directed by Wolfgang Staudt, visit in the ancient city and walk through the Avenue of the Giants with a number of characters such as the Sandman, or the Rock Eater from the famous fantasy movie "The Neverending Story".

For children there's a playground, a Panama visit - land of fairytale writer Janosch, which can be explored on tiny boats floating on water, as well as a visit to the Radio Teddy studio.

The park has catering points and the "Prinz Eisenherz" restaurant, equipped with a variety of interesting props and scenery used in the movies.
