The town of Ostra lies 30 km from Prague. There is a reconstructed medieval village here, surrounded by beautiful gardens. But travelers beware! Local currency here is in circulation here, so as soon as you arrive it's necessary to exchange your money to grosches (1 grosch = 10 crowns).
For children, the visit here will be a great attraction, as they will be able to see not only the old crafts, but also try the old methods of manufacturing of various items like: soap, paper, rope and candles, because in the village there's a pharmacy, a soap shop, pottery, archery, weaving worskshop, tinkers, stonemasonry and many others.
You can also do some shopping in the medieval market or in a shop. To buy soap, cosmetics, honey, herbal tinctures, and vegetables from organic cultivation.
For sure you will enjoy all thematical gardens -arranged in an interesting way: oriental, monastery, cooking, herbal and other. There are also various cultural events happening here, like the days of honey and ginger and wine, beer day, theater and music events.
