Haus des Meeres - Aqua Terra Zoo in Vienna is the largest marine aquarium in Austria.
It has more than 10 thousand animals.
In a terrarium you can see crocodiles, lizards, tarantulas and various species of snakes. The huge aquarium hosts floating fish species, several species of sharks (including great white sharks or bamboo sharks), sea turtles and piranhas.
There is also a section of freshwater fish, where there are carps and sturgeons. In the Mediterranean section the visitors can see snakes, shells, crabs, sea urchins, octopus, starfish and many different species of fish.
In the Kroki-Park you can enjoy birds flying over the heads or monkeys running slowly and slowly creeping crocodiles.
In the House of Tropics you walk along wooden bridges and you can see the green waterfall, meet monkeys, birds, bats and turtles.
At the Haus des Meeres, on certain days of the week, there are feeding shows with sharks, piranhas and amphibians, as well as ... diving with sharks. And on top of that, from the cafe on the 11th floor you can enjoy the fantastic scenery of Vienna.
The building also houses a shop and a cafe. And right next to it there's a small playground and climbing wall
