The Tuileries Gardens is a park designed in the French style. Tuileries is located between the Louvre Museum, Place de la Concorde and the Seine.
When walking along the main avenue you can admire the wonderful sculptures. There are also two museums here, Galerie Nationale du Jeu de Paume and the Musée de l'Orangerie (you can see here Claude Monet's huge paintings from the water lilies series, paintings by Matisse, and Cezanne). Both buildings are remnants of the original palace (Palais de Tuileries).
In the park you will encounter several fountains and two ponds, where in summer you can play with small ships, and in the winter there is an ice rink. It's one of those cool places where you can take a chair and watch kids cavorting in the water.
Every year, roughly from mid-June until the end of August, an amusement park is being established with a giant Ferris wheel (a fantastic view of the whole city), rides, slides and a playground.
Children will love the pony rides, toy cotton candy and pancakes stands.
