Museu Marítim and Drassanes is housed in the thirteenth century Royal Shipyards of Barcelona. It consists of a complex of buildings that produced vessels for the powerful Mediterranean fleet.
Today they are the world's largest and best-preserved medieval shipyards.
In the museum you can see a beautiful collection of different models of ships, sailing ship reconstruction and the kitchen of Juan de Austria, the commander of the fleet at the Battle of Lepanto, which was one of the bloodiest naval battles in world history; early navigational charts, as well as oil paintings, watercolors, sailor uniforms, ships sealed in bottles, miniature of Christopher Columbus ship: Santa Maria and many others.
