Ozeaneum is a place where you can discover the countless secrets of the underwater world of the Baltic Sea, North Sea and Atlantic Ocean.
OZEANEUM has a total of 39 aquariums with a total capacity of six million liters, and are about 7,000 living specimens.
The biggest pool in OZEANEUM's Aquarium "Open Atlantic Ocean", containing more than two and a half million liters of salt water. Its depth is more than nine meters, and the area of about 300 square meters. The panoramic glass window weighs twenty-two tons and is more than thirty inches thick!
The remaining aquariums fit each around 200,000 liters of water, and have from two to four meters deep. Then there are small containers with a capacity of several hundred liters.
In addition to aquariums in Ozeaneum there are also great marine exhibitions. There is a children's exhibition "Sea for children." The content herein is prepared specifically for children aged 6 to 12 years. The exhibition is supplemented with proposals for younger children.
The adventure tunnel, the research station, the Peruvian penguin enclosure is part of Ozeaneum prepared especially for young fans of the sea. Adventure tunnel transports children to the world of deep sea. Just as in a submarine the youngest discover here fascinating underwater worlds. The research station located on the surface of the deep tunnel area invites you to further discoveries. The mysterious, underwater sea grass meadow invites you to play hide and seek, hide it the sea grass and get to know the life in the sea from the point of view of gammarids, barnacles and shore crabs.
At the children's exhibition you can see the world of sea creatures from a close range. Here, looking through the diving glasses you'll watch even the tiniest sea inhabitants under a microscope, discover the secrets of the deep. With some you can even have a virtual race! Listen to seahorses, clownfish and lobsters, as the sea is also a land full of sounds.
The demonstration pool allows children to encounter the fish world very close to the and to overcome the fear of slimy and disgusting sea creatures.
